Relay for Life
|
Many thanks to all those that participated in or donated to the American
Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" in 2011. The DEARS team had a great time and
raised over $1400 for cancer research. The theme for this years Relay was "Hope
around the world". Our teams country was Scotland. We even had two brave members
(both club officers) who chose to wear kilts for the event. Even though the
night got rather chilly, the kilts stayed on.
We made many contacts with our special event station. We even logged a contact
in Australia on 40 meters.
